
The MFO is honored to announce that it has received Egypt’s and Israel’s approval to appoint Brigadier General (P) Pavel Kolář from the Czech Republic as the MFO’s next Force Commander.
Brigadier General (P) Kolář will assume command of the Multinational Force and Observers in Sinai on 5 March 2023 from the current Force Commander, Major General Evan Williams of New Zealand, who will relinquish command after three years and four months of distinguished service.
Brigadier General (P) Kolář will serves as the MFO’s fourteenth Force Commander and the first from the Czech Republic.
Most recently, Brigadier General (P) Kolář served as Deputy Commander of the Czech Republic’s Land Forces. His military career, since 1992, has included a variety of command and staff appointments. He has also served as the Director, Special Operations Forces Directorate at the Czech Ministry of Defense. Overseas assignments include NATO’s Stabilisation Force in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Senior National Representative to the U.S. Central Command in Tampa, Florida, Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, NATO’s Special Operations Headquarters at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe in Mons, Belgium, and NATO’s International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan.
Brigadier General (P) Kolář is married and has two children.
