The MFO and the Treaty Parties, Egypt and Israel, are very honored and pleased to report that Denmark has rejoined the MFO’s family of Supporting States.
On September 10, 2024, we received a Danish delegation, led by Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, at our North Camp in Sinai. They were welcomed by our Force Commander, Major General (MG) Garraway, and the MFO Director General’s Representative in Cairo, Mr. Brad Lynch. MG Garraway and his staff provided Minister Rasmussen with a strategic briefing on the operational environment in Sinai and current MFO activities. MG Garraway also expressed thanks on behalf of the entire MFO for Denmark’s generosity and for their decision to support the ongoing and stable peace between Egypt and Israel.
Commencing in MFO Financial Year (FY) 25 (1 October 2024 to 30 September 2025), Denmark has agreed to provide an unrestricted contribution amounting to DKK 1,000,000 (approximately USD$150,000) annually for three years. Denmark was previously a Donor State during MFO FYs 11 to 14 with contributions for the first two years in support of our Civilian Observer Unit and for the latter two years to encourage local Sinai employment.
