Force Commander, Major General Michael Garraway
(Australia), and a variety of MFO personnel, both military
and civilian, were pleased to welcome Ambassadors,
Defense Attachés, and key Embassy staff from Egypt
and Israel-based Embassies to the MFO’s South Camp.

Recent visits to the MFO

Visits are a crucial element to understanding the MFO, our mission, and our role in promoting regional peace and stability. These visits result in productive dialogue with our Egyptian and Israeli colleagues, representatives of MFO Troop-Contributing and Donor States, and friends.

Recently, the MFO family had the privilege and pleasure of hosting the following guests in Sinai among many others:

 

  • Major General Henry Dixon: From January 6-8, 2024, the Deputy Commanding General of the United States Army Command (ARCENT), Major General Henry Dixon, visited our South Camp and met with members of the U.S. Contingent.
  • Group Captain Ian Goold and Group Captain Amanda Cornell: In early January 2024, the Australian Defence Attachés to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Israel, Group Captain Ian Goold and Group Captain Amanda Cornell, visited South Camp. During their visit, they attended the Australian Contingent’s medals and awards parade, change of command, and appointment ceremony.
  • Her Excellency Herro Mustafa Garg: From January 14-18, 2024, the U.S. Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Her Excellency Herro Mustafa Garg, visited South and North Camps as part of a familiarization visit to the MFO.
  • Major General Darcy Molstad: In mid-January 2024, the Deputy Commander of the Canadian Joint Operations Command (CJOC), Major General Darcy Molstad, accompanied by the Command Chief Warrant Officer of CJOC, Chief Warrant Officer Robert Sullivan, and the Canadian Defence Attaché to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Colonel Kevin Bertoia, visited South Camp. The group met with contingent members and attended the Canadian Contingent’s medals and awards parade.
  • Vice Admiral Aurelio De Carolis and Rear Admiral Stefano Costantino: From January 19 to 22, 2024, the Commander in Chief of the Italian Navy Fleet, Vice Admiral Aurelio De Carolis, and the Commander of the Third Naval Division of the Italian Navy, Rear Admiral Stefano Costantino, visited South Camp to meet with the Marina Militare personnel who form the MFO’s Coastal Patrol Unit.
  • Military Officers from Egypt’s Nasser Military Academy for Postgraduate Studies: On February 6, 2024, 84 Military Officers from 16 different countries, currently attending the Nasser Military Academy for Postgraduate Studies, accompanied by Academy staff, visited South Camp for a familiarization trip.
  • Major General Ronald Burkett: From February 15 to 17, 2024, the Commanding General of the 36th Infantry Division of the United States Army, Major General Ronald Burkett, accompanied by Command Sergeant Major (CSM) of the 36th Infantry Division, CSM Jose Escobedo, visited South Camp to meet with U.S. contingent members.
  • Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Jacinto Garza: From February 18 to 20, 2024, CSM Garza of ARCENT, visited the MFO’s South Camp to reaffirm the U.S. commitment to the MFO mission.
  • Her Excellency Adriana Rosario Lissidini Dotti: On February 26, 2024, the Ambassador of Uruguay to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Her Excellency Adriana Rosario Lissidini Dotti, visited South Camp where she attended the Uruguayan Contingent’s medals and awards parade and met with soldiers.
  • His Excellency Miroslav Šestović: On February 27, 2024, the Ambassador of Serbia to the Arab Republic of Egypt, His Excellency Miroslav Šestović, accompanied by the Serbian Defence Attaché, Lieutenant Colonel Zdravko Perić, visited South Camp to attend the Serbian Contingent’s medals and awards parade.

 

The MFO remains grateful to all our Supporting States and welcomes visits from their representatives.
