Supporting States Visits - April 7 and 9, 2025

The MFO Director General, Ms. Elizabeth Dibble, the Force Commander, Major General Michael Garraway (Australia), and a variety of MFO personnel, both military and civilian, were pleased to welcome Ambassadors, Defense Attachés, and key Embassy staff from Egypt and Israel-based Embassies to the MFO’s South Camp.

On April 7, a delegation of 24 representatives from 16 Supporting States based in Israel, including Albania, Australia, Canada, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Serbia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States, participated in a comprehensive familiarization visit. The group was joined by Mr. Thomas Goldberger, the MFO’s Representative in Tel Aviv, his staff, and representatives from the Israel Defense Forces.

On April 9, a second delegation consisting of 25 representatives from 16 Supporting States based in Cairo, including Albania, Australia, Canada, Colombia, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the Netherlands, Norway, Serbia, Uruguay, the United Kingdom, and the United States, visited South Camp. They were accompanied by Mr. Bradley C. Lynch, the MFO’s Representative in Cairo, along with his staff, and representatives of the Egyptian Armed Forces.

Both visits focused on MFO Sinai capabilities that directly contribute to our Observe, Verify and Report responsibilities, including detailed briefings on the Civilian Observation Unit, the Coastal Patrol Unit, the Aviation Company, the Military Working Dogs of the MFO, and Explosive Ordinance Disposal capabilities.

These visits offer MFO Supporting State representatives invaluable, direct insight into the significant work their contributions enable in support of peace between Egypt and Israel.

The MFO remains grateful to all our Supporting States for their generous contributions of military troops, equipment, and funds and welcomes the visits of their representatives.
