DG Award Presented to Amb. Noke

On 31 October 2021, Ambassador Noke Masaki from Japan was presented with the Director General’s Award for Excellence for his longstanding support of the MFO and help in furthering peace and understanding between Egypt and Israel.

Thanks to Ambassador Noke’s advocacy the MFO was able to proceed with critical infrastructure projects and the deployment of Japanese military personnel to the MFO. As a result, the MFO now has in place in Sinai a newly constructed combined aviation terminal and observation site, the foundation for a newly enhanced communications backbone, and revamped remote logistics sites meeting the highest level of force protection standards. As a result of the deployment of troops, the MFO’s Force in Sinai has a more capable and effective liaison with the Parties to the Treaty of Peace.

The award was presented to Ambassador Noke, on behalf of Director General Beecroft, by our Representative in Cairo, Mr. Brad Lynch. On hand to mark the occasion were Egypt’s Major General Samer Kamel, Assistant to the Chief of the Military Intelligence Authority, Israel’s Ambassador to Egypt, Amira Oron, and the U.S. Ambassador to Egypt, Jonathan Cohen.
