These visits foster productive dialogue with our Egyptian and Israeli colleagues, representatives of MFO Troop-Contributing and Donor States, and friends. Importantly, visits also allow diplomatic staff and senior representatives the opportunity to visit their sailors, soldiers, and aviators that contribute to the MFO mission.

News & Media In Memoriam: Kristin Claire Williams

In Memoriam: Kristin Claire Williams

The MFO mourns the passing of our beloved colleague, Kristin Williams, the spouse of Force Commander, Major General Evan Williams, on 15 December 2021 in Tauranga, New Zealand.

For nearly two years -- 1 December 2019 to 21 October 2021 -- in the face of deteriorating health, the threat of COVID, and the hardships of strict COVID-related restrictions, Kristin lived side by side with the MFO's force in Sinai. Throughout, she put service above self -- organizing athletic and social activities to lift morale among soldiers and civilians, enhancing the role of women in the MFO, and fostering a more cohesive community through kindness and inclusion of those in need. As she departed Sinai, she was awarded the MFO Director General's Award for her many contributions. Her courage in times of trial and graceful service to others strengthened our force and better enabled us in our mission of peace. Her uplifting impact and inspiring example will long endure, and we shall miss her greatly.

We offer our heartfelt condolences to her family, in particular, her husband, our own Evan Williams.
