The Protocol to the Treaty of Peace between Egypt and Israel which established the MFO was signed on August 3, 1981. The MFO officially inducted a new aircraft rescue and firefighting vehicle, funded by the Government of Japan, into the Force’s fleet on 11 July 2023 in North Camp. In attendance at the ceremony was the Ambassador of Japan to Egypt, His Excellency Oka Hiroshi. He was accompanied by the MFO’s Force Commander, Major General Pavel Kolář, Force Fire Chief, Mr. Innes Southard, and the Director General’s Representative in Cairo, Mr. Brad Lynch.
