MFO Plenary Meeting - February 10, 2025

The MFO’s Director General, Ms. Elizabeth L. Dibble, together with our Force Commander, Major General Michael Garraway (Australia), provided briefings on the state of the MFO and the successful conduct of our mission in Fiscal Year 2024 (1 October 2023 to 30 September 2024). This included an overview of our verification and monitoring activities as well as ongoing efforts to facilitate dialogue between Egypt and Israel, the Treaty Parties.

In particular, DG Dibble highlighted the important role of our Supporting States in enabling the success of our mission. She, Major General Garraway, and the Heads of the Egyptian delegation, Brigadier General Ayman Shebl, the Israeli delegation, Brigadier General Amit Adler, and the United States’ delegation, Mr. Chris Backemeyer, all expressed their gratitude for the stalwart support, generous contributions, and unwavering commitment.

In closing, DG Dibble availed herself of the occasion to present the MFO’s Chief of Administration, Mr. Bruno Giannini, with the MFO’s highest honor, the Distinguished Service for Peace Award upon his approaching retirement, “in grateful recognition of his demonstrated dedication and commitment to the MFO and the cause of international peace during his remarkable 42-year career with the MFO.”
