MFO Thanks its Women Peacekeepers

With the celebration of International Women’s Day on 8 March and the designation of March as Women’s History Month in some of our Supporting States, we recognize and thank all of the women throughout the MFO for their vital and indispensable contributions to the success of our mission of peace. Women peacekeepers excel in the most crucial and demanding of peacekeeping roles and under the most challenging conditions.

In the MFO, women preform outstandingly in leadership roles, including Deputy Director General, Deputy Director of our Cairo office, Chief of our elite observer unit in Sinai, General Counsel of the MFO, Force Counsel in Sinai, and Force Financial Controller in Sinai. Women also excel in our most critical fields, including the observation unit, procurement, finance, support, personnel, medical, and military contingents. In all respects, the MFO seeks to further promote, empower, and expand the roles of women, as we all work together in support of peace between Egypt and Israel.
