Supplemental Japanese Funding in FY2024

This year’s contribution, amounting to $580,000, will be used to upgrade the reverse osmosis plant at our South Camp in Sinai. This contribution will allow the MFO to independently produce its own service, washing, and firefighting water and the option to eventually produce our own potable water at South Camp. This will greatly assist the MFO to maintain the safety of our operations and better manage our use of this precious commodity in the austere Sinai environment.

This is the tenth consecutive year that the MFO has benefited from supplemental funding from Japan in addition to its ongoing regular contribution towards food costs and civilian personnel salaries. The MFO is very thankful for the Government of Japan’s ongoing, stable, and wide-ranging support of our mission and peace between Egypt and Israel. This includes not only funding but also personnel who are actively involved in our peacekeeping operations in Sinai.
